What is the Pre-Registration Activity Guide? Why do I have to complete it?
Prior to each semester’s enrollment, a Pre-Registration Activity Guide will appear on LionPATH Student Home Base. It contains emergency contact information, as well as the Financial Responsibility Agreement (FRA); both of which are required to be completed each semester. The FRA is a promise to take financial responsibility for payment of your student account.
You must complete the Pre-Registration Activity Guide to be eligible to enroll in classes. Otherwise, a hold will remain on your account, which will prevent you from being able to enroll. The only way to lift this hold and be able to enroll is to complete your Activity Guide.
Your Activity Guide can be found in your To Do List on LionPATH Student Home Base.
If you are an incoming new student, the Pre-Registration Activity Guide (and in most cases, the Major Preferences Activity Guide) will be available approximately 3 days before your orientation (NSO) date.
Where can I find my enrollment date in LionPATH?
Your enrollment date is listed on Student Home Base in the Enrollment Dates section. This section includes the first day you are eligible to enroll in courses for the corresponding semester, as well as other helpful dates.
How do I search for courses in LionPATH?
You can search for classes by clicking “Find Classes and Enroll” or “Find Classes” on the right side of Student Home Base. On the next screen, the left-hand navigation menu includes a few of the tools that can be used to search for classes depending on your preference. Class Search and Schedule Builder are most frequently used. Both tools allow you to enter search criteria (e.g., campus, subject, level, etc.) to narrow down search results.
What is Schedule Builder?
Schedule Builder is a tool that allows you to conduct a class search, examine class offerings, and plan class schedules. With Schedule Builder you can select the classes you want to take, add scheduled breaks, let the system generate possible schedules, view schedule combinations and choose the ones you like best. Classes saved on Schedule Builder can be sent to your LionPATH Enrollment Cart to expedite enrollment when you are eligible to enroll in classes.
You can access Schedule Builder by clicking on the link in the Quick Links section of Student Home Base or by clicking Schedule Builder in the “Find Classes and Enroll” or “Find Classes” menus.
How can I see General Education requirements for courses?
You can search for class attributes (e.g., general education requirements, honors designation) different ways, depending on which tool you are using.
Schedule Builder: use the “Search by Course Attributes” tab
Classic Class Search: open the “Additional Search Criteria” option and make selections in the course attribute dropdown boxes.
Find Classes and Enroll>Class Search: Scroll to the Course Attribute section in the New Search pane.
Where is my Academic Requirements Report, or “degree audit” in LionPATH?
To run your degree audit from Student Home Base, click Degree Planning and Progress from the menu on the right side of Student Home Base. Students in their intended major should click “My Academic Requirements” from the left-hand navigation menu. Pre-Major students or students not in their intended major should click “What-If Report,” rather than “My Academic Requirements”.
What is the Enrollment Shopping Cart?
The Enrollment Shopping Cart is a place for you to create and maintain a list of classes for the upcoming semester. It is used to temporarily save classes until it is time to enroll for the semester. (Note: Placing a class in the shopping cart does not mean you are enrolled in the class or that a space will be held for you in the class.)
Why do I need to validate the classes in my Enrollment Shopping Cart?
It is recommended that you validate the classes in your shopping cart before your enrollment date. Validating checks if you can enroll in your saved classes or if there is a potential problem, like a time conflict, prerequisite requirement, course control, etc. Validating will give you the opportunity to correct class selection errors before your enrollment appointment.
How does the Wait List work?
You can choose to enroll in the Wait List when a class is full. The Wait List is like a line. When a seat becomes open, the student at the top of the list is automatically enrolled in the class, and everyone moves up a spot. Students should monitor the classes they add to their Wait List and remove classes they do not wish to keep on their Wait List. The Wait List will be available and run through the last day of the regular drop period. Not all classes have a wait list.
I cannot get on the Wait List for a class. What should I do?
Not all classes have a Wait List. First, verify the class you want has a Wait List. You can see this information when searching for a class using either the “Find Classes and Enroll” or “Find Classes” tools.
How do I find out how many spots are left on the Wait List?
You can view the Wait List capacity and total number of students on the Wait List by viewing the class details. Click on the class number or section to view the class information and look for details for Waitlist Capacity and Waitlist Total.
How often is the Wait List updated?
Wait Lists are updated periodically throughout the day. So, there may be a period when there is an opening in a class and a Wait List. During that period, a student who attempts to register for that class will be able to join the Wait List. The open spot will be assigned to the first person on the Wait List when the process runs.
What is a Class Swap?
Swapping a class provides a way for you to drop a class you are currently enrolled in and replace it with a new class. Since this process is done simultaneously, it is a way to keep your space in the enrolled class while trying to enroll in a new class.
